A few basic systemic (family) principlesEverything within a system has its own place and should work otherwise the system is likely not to function (properly). The family system is no exception to this systemic rule. It is therefore important that everybody takes up the place where (s)he belongs; this will bring the system at ease or at rest. The system is likely to get unbalanced if the following principles are not followed:
- Every child is entitled to its rightful place within the family. - The law of give and take applies; the parent gives and the child takes. - The order of the system; the older one takes care of the next one (in other words older family members have different responsibilities toward the other family members than the younger family members). |
